Joris Luyendijk & Kweku Adoboli: The highs and lows of making, and losing, money in the City
On 8 December Joris Luyendijk and Kweku Adoboli will tell us about the highs and lows of making, and losing money in the City. Anthropologist and journalist Luyendijk, who’s dedicated his recent work to understanding what really goes on in the city, discusses its complex and opaque mechanisms with Adoboli, one of the few bankers in Britain, convicted of fraud.
His account of how the process unfolded, and how responsibility was apportioned, reveals how much ground there is still to cover to hold global financial systems accountable.
This talk will be chaired by Douglas Fraser, BBC Scotland Business and Economics Editor, and will take place in the University of Edinburgh Business School.
