Apex Hotels host Lothian Launch Live event to support budding young entrepreneurs
Lothian Launch Live, a special training event for young entrepreneurs organised by Young Enterprise Lothian, will be hosted at the Apex Grassmarket Hotel in Edinburgh on Saturday 21st September, between 9am-1pm.
The special event will host a range of workshops and skills programmes to support young people in business, ranging from business planning and marketing to teamwork and budgeting.
One of the highlights will be a Dragon’s Den style workshop where young people can pitch their business ideas to seasoned entrepreneurs. Panel members include Pete McLean, Business Growth Consultant from Bright Red Triangle, a hub for innovation and enterprise practice at Edinburgh Napier University.
This event is one of a range of learning and development initiatives supported by Apex Hotels, who are proactive in helping young people develop their careers in hospitality and tourism.
This includes providing work experience opportunities for students through Edinburgh City Council’s Job, Education and Training (JET) programme and support for Young Enterprise’s Business Mentor Programme, where employees help young people develop business skills.
Other employment programmes and charities supported by the group include Springboard, Diversity & Inclusion Jobs, Youth Friendly Employer, Young Persons Guarantee Employer and Street League.
Michael Stott, Commercial Director, Apex Hotels said:
“We are delighted to be hosting Lothian Launch Live at Apex Grassmarket this weekend. It is vitally important to invest in the skills and development of our young people, and we applaud the work that Young Enterprise Lothian and their partners do in this area.
These events are part of a much wider commitment by Apex Hotels to nurture and develop talent across the hospitality sector, and to ensure equal opportunity for anyone to succeed.”
Graeme Easton, Chair of Young Enterprise Lothian Board said:
“Saturday’s event is a fantastic opportunity to bring together Students, Teachers and Mentors involved in this year’s programme. It will provide great training material that will benefit them on their business start-up journey and help us build the Young Enterprise community across Edinburgh & the Lothians. We are very grateful to Apex Hotels for hosting the day and supporting Young Enterprise.”
