Pine Trees transforms into ‘Coorie haven’ after major refurbishment

Pine Trees Hotel, nestled in the picturesque Perthshire town of Pitlochry in Scotland, has undergone an extensive refurbishment, transforming the hotel into Scotland’s ultimate Coorie retreat. The newly revamped hotel is due to open on November 6th, 2024.

Nestled in the heart of Perthshire, Pine Trees is a haven of tranquillity, where guests are invited to disconnect from the stresses of modern, digitally saturated life and reconnect with life’s simple pleasures.

Balancing the serenity and seclusion of the Scottish wilds with the inviting warmth of a contemporary country home, Pine Trees offers the tranquillity of modern Coorie living, where guests can unwind and savour a genuine connection with themselves, their loved ones and with nature.

Pine Trees has 32 beautifully appointed rooms, including The Coach House, Heatherbank House and a Cottage. Pine Trees offers a range of room types – from Snug, and Comfy Luxe to Luxury Suites and dog friendly rooms for paw-some getaways. Each room is impeccably designed with elegant touches from bespoke furniture, vintage style DAB radios, GHD hairdryers, fluffy slippers and a range of sustainable toiletries by Laura Thomas Co.

The historic Drina Suite overlooking the hotel grounds, features a club class pocket sprung super king-sized bed, a free-standing feature bathtub in the bedroom with a great view of the forested valley below, and a large en-suite shower room.­­

Pine Trees General Manager David Lapsley is a professional sommelier and former owner of Etive restaurant in Oban. Pine Trees’ will have a destination bar and restaurant, Flora and Fauna, that will deliver the ultimate Scottish culinary experience.

Fauna, the hotel’s signature restaurant, celebrates a wealth of fresh, locally sourced produce, bringing guests the best from Scotland’s fields, forests, and shores. The menu is packed with delicious, wholesome dishes, from slow braised beef shin bourguignon with carrot, ceps and roast onion beef fat mash, to melt in the mouth roasted chicken breast, with truffled parsnip, charred leeks, smoked sausage and gherkin jus. Delicious deserts include iced heather hills lavendar honey parfait with yogurt, plums and gingerbread or our chocolate cremeux with crispy chocolate and salted caramel ice cream.

Flora is the hotel’s bespoke, stylish bar, a sanctuary for whisky aficionados and wine lovers alike. The bar has an extensive drinks list celebrating the rich heritage and natural beauty of the Scottish Highlands, from Edradour single malts to specially crafted cocktails.

As a portal to Highland Perthshire, Pine Trees showcases the best of local cuisine, crafts and customs throughs in-hotel design elements inspired by contemporary Scottish culture, as well as a suite of cosy Coorie products that reflect the best from the region.

The hotel has handpicked a selection of cosy Coorie products reflecting the very best from the region. Highlights include artisan coffee from Glen Lyon Coffee Roasters, artisan velvet truffles from award-winning Master Chocolatier Iain Burnett, handmade jam from Isabella’s Preserves, ethically sourced Elementos Tea, and sustainable soaps and scents from Laura Thomas Co, Scotland’s champion of plant based personal care.

The Pine Trees’ team will be on hand to recommend the best that Highland Perthshire has to offer from the Land Rover Driving Experience through the forests and glens of Atholl Estate, Salmon fishing on the Tay or clay pigeon shooting and archery with the team at County Clays in Dunkeld.

Pine Trees will launch with a range of lovingly crafted packages, including the Taste of Scotland; a two-night stay which includes a rich, sensory chocolate tasting experience supplied by the award-winning local Highland Chocolatier, perfectly paired with a carefully selected whisky flight. The offer also includes dinner at the hotel’s destination restaurant Fauna and a seasonal Scottish breakfast each morning.

The Highland Adventure package is perfect for those winter nights with a three-night stay for the price of two. The offer includes a welcome drink on arrival, a hearty Scottish breakfast served each morning and time for guests to explore the local area and experience new adventures. Finally, the Couples Coorie break, invites guests to cosy up for a one-night stay, three-course dinner, full Scottish breakfast, local artisan chocolates hand selected by the Highland Chocolatier and a bottle of sparkling Prosecco.
