Little’s keeps it in the family with top Award win
Leading chauffeur drive company Little’s is celebrating success at The Herald Scottish Family Business Awards 2015, where it was crowned Small to Medium Sized Family Business of the Year.
These prestigious awards recognise Scotland’s diverse and dynamic family business sector and the contribution family run firms make to their communities and to the wider economy.
As a successful family business of almost fifty years standing, the judges were impressed by Little’s ability to deliver a programme of technological innovation and modernisation with no compromise to their traditional values of exceptional service and attention to detail.
Alastair Christmas, Regional Director of Clydesdale Bank, sponsor of the Small to Medium category at the awards, said: ‘The standard of entries for this year’s awards has been excellent and all deserve to be recognised, but special congratulations go to Little’s, worthy winners of the Small to Medium Sized Business of the Year award.’
Little’s was founded in 1966 by brothers George and Mike Wills with an ambition to offer a world class service – and today it is managed by George’s daughter, Managing Director Heather Matthews. Also a nominee for Female Business Leader of the Year at the Scottish Business Awards this year, Heather shares her father’s entrepreneurial spirit and drive for success.
She commented: ‘Little’s heritage and family values lie at the core of our business, so to win this award is a real honour and a significant milestone for the whole Little’s team. We have had a strong year in 2015, thanks to our combined focus on delivering impeccable levels of service for our clients, and on technological innovation to meet their ever changing needs. This is a wonderful way to begin our fiftieth year of business and we are looking forward to another year of progress and success in 2016.’
As well as being impressed by Little’s focus on innovation, judges recognised the importance of the company’s expansion of services into global markets, allowing them to manage high profile conferences and events in burgeoning markets such as the Far and Middle East. Little’s has also responded to the growth in clients’ environmental concerns with the introduction of its Lexus hybrid fleet.
The Herald Scottish Family Business Awards took place on Wednesday 2nd December 2015 at The Grand Central Hotel in Glasgow.
