Burges Salmon’s Restructuring team helps achieve continuation of Glasgow-based film and TV post-production business
The firm has advised Savalas Limited, and its joint administrators from RSM UK Restructuring Advisory, on the pre-pack sale of its business and assets
Independent UK law firm Burges Salmon has advised Savalas Limited, a Glasgow-based post-production facility, and its joint administrators Paul Dounis and Gareth Harris of RSM UK Restructuring Advisory, on the pre-pack sale of Savalas’ business and assets.
The sale ensured continuity of service for existing projects and contracts and the smooth continuation of a business in Scotland’s important creative sector, identified by the Scottish Government as contributing more than £5 billion to the Scottish economy every year.
Specialists from Burges Salmon’s Restructuring team advised on the sale, led by partner Emily Scaife and directors Nick Middleton and Amy McVey.
Nick Middleton comments: “Working in close collaboration with Savalas and RSM UK, our collective efforts meant we could facilitate a quick sale to ensure business continuity for Savalas’ customers and the continuation of a key business in Scotland’s creative sector.”
Paul Dounis, RSM UK restructuring advisory partner and Joint Administrator, says: “This pre-pack sale to the management team has enabled Savalas Post Limited to continue as a post-production business operating out of its current premises at Film City Glasgow.”
