We only have our students on campus for a short amount of time this semester, so engaging with them now would be the best time if looking to recruit into roles which will start in the Summer/Autumn of 2025, or if you have opportunities with an immediate start date, we can help you promote these to our students and graduates.

ALL-Discipline Careers Fair, Thursday 6th February 2025

I would like to specifically highlight that bookings are now open for our ALL-Discipline Careers Fair which will take place on Thursday 6th February 2025, 11am – 3pm in the Oriam Sports Facility on our Riccarton Campus, based in Edinburgh.

By attending careers events at Heriot-Watt University, you will have access to our highly sought after students.  Our students are currently joint 2nd in the whole of the UK and joint 1st in Scotland for positive graduate outcomes.

The aim of the ALL-Discipline Careers Fair is to ensure our students and graduates are aware of the range of opportunities still open for applications during semester 2, this can be summer internships, placements, work experience or graduate roles.

We believe the fair offers a valuable opportunity to raise the profile of your organisation to students at Heriot-Watt University. The fair will be mainly promoted to penultimate year, final year and postgraduate students from ALL disciplines taught at Heriot Watt University.

Green Energy & Sustainability Careers Fair, Wednesday 12th February 2025

We have also just opened bookings for the Green Energy & Sustainability Careers Fair which will take place on Wednesday 12th February 2025, 2pm – 4pm within the James Watt Foyer Area at our Riccarton campus based in Edinburgh.

This is a smaller careers fair with limited space, 16 stands available to book. Further details available if this event is of interest.: – employers@hw.ac.uk

We are aware attending a Careers Fair isn’t for everyone, we offer many other services to help you engage with our students and promote your opportunities, including: –

Skills training

• Presentations on campus/online
• Panel Sessions, including demystifying certain industries/job roles and Careers Insight Sessions, what you can do with particular degrees, for e.g., with a Mathematics, Biological Science or Psychology degree – not always a typical route, what do graduates with these degrees go onto do, are they within your organisation, would they like to talk about their role to current students)?
• Drop-in sessions
• Recruitment interviews
• Targeted emails
