Celebrating Living Wage employers in Scotland

The Living Wage Scotland Awards celebrate individuals and organisations that have made an outstanding contribution to the Living Wage movement in Scotland.

We would like to say a huge thank you to our principal sponsor SSE plc and to our individual award sponsors.

Applications are now open. We have 7 award categories to choose from. Please read the criteria and the Award Application Guide carefully to help you submit the best application possible.

Finalists will be invited to join us at The Redhurst Hotel in November where the winners will be announced and everyone can enjoy an evening to remember.

Newcomer Award 2024 sponsored by abrdn

Who can apply: Employers accredited since June 2023
Criteria: An employer who has done something that stands out to celebrate their accreditation, has taken part in activity since accreditation to promote the real Living Wage or has contributed in other ways to support the Living Wage movement.

Trailblazer Award 2024 sponsored by Camera Obscura & World of Illusions

Who can apply: All accredited Living Wage employers
Criteria: An employer who is a stand-out in their industry due to their commitment to the real Living Wage. Setting an example to others and actively promoting their accreditation in a range of forms.

Living Hours Award 2024 sponsored by Capital City Partnership

Who can apply: Employers who have extended their Living Wage commitment to cover security of hours by accrediting as a Living Hours employer
Criteria: An employer who has gained Living Hours accreditation and has contributed to the Living Hours movement in a positive e.g. promoting their accreditation, speaking about Living Hours publicly, supported the movement through other activities.

Employee Choice Award 2024 sponsored by KURA

Who can apply: Employees of accredited Living Wage employers can nominate their employer for this award
Criteria: Reasons for nominating may include: positive response to receiving the real Living Wage, they have seen their employer actively promote and engage with the Living Wage or other reasons relating to the Living Wage which make the employee proud to work for their organisation.

Local Champion Award 2024 sponsored by First Bus

Who can apply: Accredited employers of any size, who can demonstrate positive impact within their local community
Criteria: An employer has shown continued commitment to the Living Wage movement through their actions and behaviours.

Outstanding Leadership Award 2024 sponsored by Morton Fraser MacRoberts

Who can apply: Accredited employers of any size
Criteria: An employer who consistently demonstrates leadership through actions such as: working to encourage others to become accredited as Living Wage employers, speaking out publicly on the real Living Wage, and going above and beyond the scope of the accreditation licence criteria.

Voice of the Year Award 2024 sponsored by The Richmond Fellowship Scotland

Who can apply: Workers and individuals who have positively contributed to the Living Wage movement
Criteria: Individuals who stand out in their commitment and advocacy for the Living Wage. Someone who has made a positive contribution to the movement by encouraging others to accredit, by speaking out about the benefits of the Living Wage in the media, or who actively participates in Living Wage activities. The application should point to specific actions or activities.
