Chase away the winter blues – join in BHF Scotland’s Edinburgh Winter Warmer
British Heart Foundation (BHF) Scotland’s Edinburgh Winter Warmer is back for 2015 so sign up today to help chase away the winter blues.
Once again, Holyrood Park is the picturesque setting for the sponsored event which will raise vital funds to help the nation’s heart charity fight for every heartbeat. Here in Edinburgh, BHF-funded scientists and doctors are working together on world-leading heart research to find new treatments to mend a broken heart.
The Edinburgh Winter Warmer is a 5k or 10k run, jog or walk around picturesque Holyrood Park and Arthur’s Seat on Sunday 22 November at 11am. All finishers will receive a medal and a thank-you certificate.
BHF Scotland’s local Fundraising Manager, Lisa Stafford, says: “For regular runners, our Edinburgh Winter Warmer is a great way to get motivated for winter training. And the route is suitable for groups of people who want to tackle a one-off challenge to raise funds. Dogs and buggies are welcome too.
“It costs £15 for adults and £5 for children, to cover the costs of organising a safe and professional event. But it’s your sponsorship money that will really help to make a difference to the lives of people in Scotland with heart disease; from babies born with a congenital condition, to teenagers learning to live with a heart condition to parents and grandparents who have had a heart attack or are living with heart failure.”
“We’re asking people to raise at least £50 to help fund our heart research. Our researchers are bringing hope to thousands of people that one day there will be a cure for a broken heart. But they can only do that with your help.”
