Posted: 16th October 2023

DWF, the global provider of integrated legal and business services, has boosted its teams in Edinburgh and Glasgow with the arrival of new colleagues, including supporting the next generation of legal talent with six newly qualified solicitors set to take up roles.

The 60-strong Scotland insurance team at DWF has been bolstered with the arrival of partner Calum Mathieson and a further 10 new additions; fraud solicitor, Zahra Bhatti, recoveries solicitor, Megan Calder, and litigation paralegals Claire Blain,  Lucy Armstrong, Arianne O’Hare, Alice Flynn, Christine Donnachie, Aimee Connacher, Shannon Brown and Danielle McAtee.

Meanwhile, six newly qualified solicitors are set to take up roles: Greg Robertson in dispute resolution, Katrina Hall in corporate services, Heather Brooks in commercial, Gary MacInnes in finance litigation, James Callender in construction and Natasha Walker, who has just joined the banking team.

Continuing the support for the next generation of legal talent, DWF has recruited seven new trainee solicitors; Abby Shaw, Adam MacDonald, Beth O’Shea, Euan Gibb, Julia Shaw, Kirsty Cousin, and Sophie McVey.

The growth coincides with two notable new client wins for DWF’s Scotland teams. The business has secured a coveted position on the Scottish Government’s legal services framework to provide legal advice in five out of the six lots. DWF already advises central government and public bodies in England, Wales and Scotland on subsidy control and procurement expertise, helping identify and manage legal risks and find solutions to deliver policy objectives within the confines of their legal frameworks.

In addition, DWF has been confirmed as the sole legal representative for BMW Financial Services, Alphera Financial Services, and Alphabet in Scotland.

Executive partner for DWF in Scotland, Caroline Colliston, said:  “I am delighted to be able to welcome so many new colleagues to our business and I look forward to the positive contribution each of them will bring to their respective roles and teams and for our clients.

“It is an exciting time for DWF in Scotland; further new hires are imminent to support our work in delivering exceptional legal services across multiple sectors. We’re extremely proud to have been selected by BMW and the Scottish Government and we look forward to continuing to work with our clients to deliver positive outcomes supported by our growing and dynamic team of talented legal professionals as well as continue to make positive contributions within the communities in which we operate.”
