MELDRUM HOUSE WINS BEST PREMIUM HOTEL AT SCOTTISH GOLF TOURISM AWARDS

Posted: 25th March 2025

Latest news aligns with ongoing investment programme at the luxury venue

Meldrum House, the historic country hotel & golf course, in Aberdeenshire, has won the prestigious ‘Best Premium Hotel’ award at the 2025 Scottish Golf Tourism Awards, which took place in Aberdeen for the first time last Thursday 20th March.

Recent improvements on the Knights parkland golf course are part of a substantial investment plan by Apex Hotels, to enhance and diversify the venue’s high-end facilities. They include an all-new state-of-the-art suite of greens machinery and tractors with the latest GPS technology worth more than £700,000; the addition of TopTracer to all 13 driving range bays; an ultra-modern £500,000 kitchen update to deliver world-class cuisine for members and guests.

The new award comes hot on the heels after the appointment of Neil McLean as its new Membership Manager, marking the latest chapter in the luxury venue’s ongoing investment plans.

Neil, who has over 18 years of sales and business development experience, assumed the role at the beginning of March to help enhance the experience for both new and existing members in both the personal and corporate membership categories.

“We’re delighted to win this incredible award at what is a pivotal time for Meldrum House,” said Managing Director Jordan Charles. “We’re making significant investments to the golf course and hotel to offer members and guests an unmatched luxurious experience and this award along with Neil’s appointment, aligns perfectly with our ambitious growth plans,” he added.

In the same week, the luxury venue also achieved an improved ranking of 55th in the Top 100 Resorts in Great Britain & Ireland listing by Golf World. Commenting on the new ranking position, the leading publication said: “A nudge up in recognition of a fine resort pushing forward, with tweaks to the course as well as in the hotel.”

Later this year, Head Teaching Professional and UK Top 50 coach Neil Marr will be running a series of premium Golf Schools where golfers can enjoy a three-night stay with breakfast, a tee time on the standout Knights Golf Course; 25 hours of engaging instructions; plus, lunch and evening dining and a tour of the Glen Garioch Whisky distillery on the final afternoon.

Meldrum House will shortly be launching Laser Clays on the croquet lawns in the Spring to enhance the engaging onsite activities for members and visitors within the luxury estate.
