The restaurant was fully refurbished in 2016 and now features a stunning hand drawn mural of Edinburgh Castle which was conceived by renowned local artist Nichol Wheatley. The Scran & Scallie

Southside Scran
Kitchin Group has finally brought the ever popular ‘From Nature to Plate’ philosophy to Edinburgh’s southside following the popularity of its sister restaurants; The Kitchin, Castle Terrace and The Scran & Scallie.
The beautiful dining room at Southside Scran features an open Maestro Rotisserie grill showcasing local produce. The Southside menu is a real tribute to the best of Scotland’s larder displaying a love and passion for French cuisine.
Southside Scran showcases a new stylish addition to the vibrant neighbourhood area of Bruntsfield. In a nod to the traditional French bistro style of dining, the bar and restaurant interior designed by Michaela Kitchin and Stephen Paterson feature warm green tones and colours with brass accents with rustic wooden floors and tiles throughout. During the day, the restaurant is surrounded by light streaming through the large street windows on Bruntsfield Place. At night time the restaurant is intimate and cosy, displaying bespoke lighting and a roaring fireplace in the bar area.
Featuring twists on classic bistro seating, using a variation of different textures, materials and fabrics the dining room the restaurant proudly also displays a grand Maestro Rotisserie on centre stage for daily cuts of meat, fish and vegetables.

The Bonnie Badger
In the heart of East Lothian’s coastal village of Gullane, The Bonnie Badger is the new charming hotel with a pub, restaurant, rooms and garden created by husband and wife team, Tom & Michaela Kitchin.
The charming site of The Bonnie Badger has always played an important part in the village life, dating back to 1836 when it first opened as an Inn. After an extensive renovation and refurbishment undertaken by the Kitchin family, The Bonnie Badger proudly opened its doors in December 2018.
The Hotel has undertaken a significant transformation, restoring and displaying many of the building’s original charm and features. The main house proudly expresses a genuine home away from home ethos where guests instantly connect with its charming and beautifully reinstated décor.
The Dining Room at The Bonnie Badger -The Stables- features a truly impressive ceiling showcasing the original beams of the old horse stable building dating back to the early days of the Inn. A grand fireplace towers over the dining room as a beautiful centre piece. The original sand stone walls have been brought back to life and been carefully restored giving the room a great character in a blend of classic panelling and stunning designer lighting showcasing some beautiful design elements.
Using only seasonal, local produce and an impressive display of artisan beers and wine selection The Stables menu offers a modern take on pub classics in line with Chef Tom Kitchin’s ‘From Nature to Plate’ philosophy which has become synonymous with the group’s other restaurants in Edinburgh.
The charming Bonnie Badger hotel features 14 individually designed en-suite bedrooms located in the main house and over two cottages at the rear of the garden. The hotel also holds a pub which has been beautifully restored having previously played hosts as the main dining room over the years. The hotel now presents a stylish garden room and a Private Dining room which can host up to 22 diners in an exclusive setting, adjacent to the back garden.
The garden of the hotel features an outdoor fireplace and an outside bar in good weather as well as an outdoor kitchen showcasing the Green Eggs and Utopia.
The Bonnie Badger has recently been awarded 5 AA Gold Stars Restaurant with Rooms and 5 stars by Visit Scotland.
