Openreach
Openreach is Britain’s digital network business.
We’re 30,400 people who connect homes, mobile phone masts, schools, shops, banks, hospitals, libraries, broadcasters, governments and businesses – large and small – to the world.
Our mission is to build the best possible network, with the highest quality service, making sure that everyone in the UK can be connected.
We work on behalf of more than 620 communications providers like SKY, TalkTalk, Vodafone, Zen and BT, and our fibre broadband network is the biggest in the UK, passing more than 27.5 million premises.
More than 2.6 million homes and businesses across Scotland – from Shetland to Stranraer – can now connect.
The next stage of our digital journey is to full fibre broadband. We’re on track to reach four million UK premises by March 2021, with Edinburgh, Greater Glasgow, West Lothian and Kilmarnock at the forefront.
We’re hiring 220 new engineers to join our 3200-strong workforce in Scotland, investing £500,000 in our Scottish training centres so we have the right skills to deliver the nation’s fibre future.
A wholly owned and independently governed division of the BT Group, more than 90 per cent of our revenues are generated from services regulated by Ofcom.
