Stagecoach East Scotland announces festive timetable changes

  • Service alterations between the 24th December and 2nd January
  • Some services will end early on 24th and 31st December
  • No services will run on Christmas Day and New Year’s Day
  • Services to return to normal on Wednesday 3rd January 2024

Stagecoach East Scotland bus and coach services will continue running over the festive season to help people who need to travel, however, customers are advised to plan ahead, as service revisions will be in place over the Christmas and New Year period.

The company are also offering one lucky customer the chance to win £500 Love2Shop vouchers to spend in the January sales! To enter, customers simply need to visit the Stagecoach Bus website, answer three questions correctly and submit their details. The prize draw will close on Saturday 23rd December.

Stagecoach have provided customers with festive timetables at bus stations and park and rides, as well as online for customers to check their journey before travelling. The company has also confirmed that no services will run on Christmas Day and New Year’s Day, with special timetables running on Boxing Day and January 2nd.

On Christmas Eve and Hogmanay, a Sunday timetable will run on all services until the evening, with many later journeys ending early or withdrawn. Due to Hogmanay events in Edinburgh, some roads in the city centre will be closed and buses may not be able to serve all stops due to diversions in place. Full details will appear on the Stagecoach Bus website closer to the time.

For those travelling between 24th December and 2nd January, Stagecoach have urged customers to check the Stagecoach Bus website, or pick up a copy of their Christmas and New Year Bus Services guide from local bus stations and park and rides.

Normal school holiday weekday timetables will resume on Wednesday 3rd January 2024.

Stagecoach’s Customer Service Centre will also adjust its opening hours over the festive period, as follows:

23rd – 24th December: 9am to 5pm
25th – 26th December: Closed

27th – 29th December: 8am to 6pm

30th – 31st December: 9am to 5pm

1st January: Closed

2nd January: 9am to 5pm

3rd January: Normal hours resume.
