THE ROYAL EDINBURGH MILITARY TATTOO ADDS FURTHER EXPERTISE AND EXPERIENCE WITH BOARD APPOINTMENTS

Posted: 9th July 2024

Former leader of the Scottish Conservative Party, Ruth Davidson, the Managing Director at People’s Postcode Lottery, David Pullan, and Rucelle Soutar, Chief Financial Officer at the Scottish Football Association, will all add their considerable and varied expertise to the Board.

The move will bolster the future direction of the Tattoo focusing on growth and expansion.

Alongside existing members of the Board and Senior Leadership Team, they’ll help shape the direction of the Tattoo brand, with a focus on growth and implementing the Tattoo’s ten-year plan to unlock its full potential.

Jason Barrett, Chief Executive of The Royal Edinburgh Military Tattoo, said: “Connection is at our core, and we pride ourselves at the Tattoo with the ability to bring people together at a national, local and international level.

“As experienced leaders, Ruth, David and Rucelle, reflect the importance of connection throughout their impressive careers and the Tattoo is incredibly fortunate to have them join our board.”

“To become one of the world’s greatest immersive events will only be possible if we have the broadest range of talent and experience on our Board.  On behalf of the entire Tattoo team, we are thrilled to be working alongside Ruth, David, and Rucelle – they will undoubtedly make us better.”

Bringing a rich journalistic background, former MSP, Ruth Davidson, joins the board to provide expert guidance on political matters to support the Tattoo’s wider community and charitable impact.

An expert in developing new strategies, seasoned global leader, David Pullan, has a wealth of experience in brand development and global markets, with previous clients including Unilever and GSK.

In addition to her exceptional financial expertise, Rucelle Soutar was previously Chief Operating Officer for the Tattoo and brings a passion for its expansion plans and a vast knowledge of staging events in the sports and cultural sectors.

Ruth Davidson said: “It’s an incredibly exciting time to be joining the Tattoo with plans to grow the wider brand to a year-round offering as well as increasing the considerable charitable donations it provides.

“As Jason would say, “you’re either moving forwards or you’re going backwards, there’s no standing still” and it’s clear that the Tattoo is striding forward under Jason’s leadership.

“I’m delighted to be joining alongside Rucelle and David and can’t wait to play my part in helping the Tattoo achieve great things.”
