What’s on at the Grassmarket Centre – Mar-Apr 2025 – Public Event Programme
Edinburgh’s much-loved Grassmarket Centre is delighted to launch its spring season of public events. This vibrant and accessible programme has something for everyone, from a Spring Swap Party and Ceilidh Spring Fling to weekly screenings at the award-winning Grassmarket Community Picture House.
The Grassmarket Centre’s friendly team look forward to welcoming everyone, sharing our warm hospitality and fantastic venues. This exciting new strand of event programming is to play a vital role in strengthening the G rassmarket C ommunit y P roj ec t ’s public profile and deepening our connections within the city.
Ultimately, through its award-winning social enterprise, the income generated through these events directly supports the GCP’s essential work supporting some of Edinburgh’s most vulnerable citizens,
‘GCP has been a beacon of hope for me and many others. It’s not just a community centre; it’s a lifeline.’
Catherine Jones, Social Enterprise Director at Grassmarket Community Project, explains,
‘Edinburgh has a reputation of wealth and prosperity, but the reality is that poverty here is hidden and extensive. Edinburgh and the Lothians are among the 20% most deprived in Scotland, affecting around
80,000 people, and this number is rising every year. More than ever, funds are needed to support the GCP’s
essential work with Edinburgh’s most vulnerable citizens.’
